14TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTERS OF CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES
On November 26, 2024, the 14th Dialogue between Governments and Youth of Central Asian Countries was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This meeting was organized by the UN Regional Central for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in assistance of the Government of Uzbekistan. Two representatives from each Central Asian country, students from the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy, and Deputy Foreign Ministers of the region participated in this event. This significant regional event focused on strengthening cooperation and addressing key challenges.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Ministers shared their analyses and discussed strategies to address current and emerging challenges. A highlight of the event was the traditional final session, where selected students made their thematic presentations to the Deputy Foreign Ministers. The representative of Turkmenistan made a speech on the theme “Enhancing the Role of Analytical and Expert Processes in Cooperation.”
Within the framework of this meeting, the cultural stage showcased national performances from each Central Asian country. The Turkmen delegation performed the poem “Turkmen’s” dedicated to the memory of Magtymguly Fragi. This year is dedicated to the great poet under the motto “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi.” The poem was presented in six languages: Turkmen, Uzbek, Kazakh, Tajik, Kyrgyz, and Russian. In addition, the delegation performed traditional melodies on national instruments– dutar and gopuz, and at the end the traditional Turkmen dance Kusht-Depdi was performed.
The Dialogue confirmed the importance of collaboration between governments and youth in addressing regional issues and strengthening cultural ties.
