An International Conference Entitled «International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development» Was Held
On March 19, 2025, the International Conference on «International
Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation
in Ensuring Sustainable Development» was held at the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry. The participants of the forum listened with great
attention to the congratulatory message of His Excellency President
Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of this international conference.
Then, our National Leader, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of
Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag made a historic speech by blessing the
work of the international conference. In his speech, our Hero Arkadag
emphasized, «We believe that peace, trust, equality, and mutual benefits
should form the basis of economic cooperation. Any major economic,
supply, trade, and investment projects can be successful only in the
presence of stability and mutual trust». According to the draft preliminary
program of this event, five thematic sessions were planned: «Geopolitical
and Geo-economics Significance of Energy, Transport, and Infrastructure
Projects in Central and South Asia»,
«Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Gas Pipeline: Economic,
Organizational, and Legal Issues», «The Role and Importance of
Constructing the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan Power
Transmission Line in Strengthening International Economic
Cooperation», «Transport Connectivity in the Central and South Asia
Regions: Development Projects», and «Participation of Financial
Institutions in the Implementation of Economic Projects in Central and
South Asia.»
Representatives of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank,
the Islamic Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other
friendly countries, which have established reliable financial cooperation
with our country, noted in their speeches that the forum has become an
important platform for exchanging experiences in the introduction of
modern innovations and issues related to investment opportunities in the
future.
At the end of the conference, there as adopted the final document.
The participants of the international conference adopted an Appeal to
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed their sincere
gratitude for the excellent conditions created for the work of the forum.
Thus, the forum held in the capital became a vivid example of the
recognition by the world community of Turkmenistan's international
initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development,
expanding the scope of interregional and international cooperation.
