ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING BEGINS WITH PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
Our Fatherland is stepping forward with grand strides toward monumental achievements during the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State. One of the most vital paths of state policy in this modern era of development revolves around the preservation and care of our youth. On September 23, 2026, during a historic session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the President signed a Decree approving the ”Strategy of the State Policy on Youth in Turkmenistan until 203” and its accompanying Action Plan. This historic document clearly highlights that the foundational pillars of our national youth policy have entered a brand-new, monumental era. It serves as a clear guarantee of the vast opportunities created to ensure a bright and prosperous future for the younger generation of the Turkmen people.
Currently, extensive opportunities are being provided for young people to acquire deep knowledge and apply their theoretical education directly into practical experience. Within modern educational framework of Turkmenistan, systemic reforms is being implemented to elevate professional talents and capabilities of our youth. Moreover, internships in the field of diplomatic atmosphere stand out as an indispensable milestone. These internships do not only reinforce theoretical knowledge through diplomatic practice, also they allow students to comprehensively grasp the requirements of today's international environment. Furthermore, it gives them the chance to coordinate with foreign colleagues and learn the specific nuances of foreign diplomatic services.
Beyond theoretical knowledge, international relations require extensive practical experience, specialized skills, and advanced professional training. In this context, international field internships hold a uniquely valuable position, bridging the gap between practical skills and academic mastery. Looking toward the long-term future of our country's foreign policy strategies, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was established by Decree of the President of Turkmenistan in order to ensure comprehensive professional readiness. The National School of Turkmen Diplomacy serves as the primary hub for preparing specialists in international relations. Indeed, we can confidently state that the future of our nation’s diplomatic service will be led by highly qualified, internationally recognized professionals who will elevate our country's reputation across the global arena.
Building on the initiatives launched by our Hero Arkadag, since 2013, the 5th year students pursuing their education during the 12-week internships within diplomatic embassies and consular offices of Turkmenistan abroad. In 2026-the year of “Independent, permanent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses” the 5th year students of our institute are currently undertaking 12-week field internships across our country’s diplomatic and consular offices located in the Republic of Turkiye, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. This experience directly empowers our youth to further enrich their professional knowledge and practical training across the spheres of international relations, diplomacy, and international law.
